Box Score: No. 5 Coyotes def. Humboldt State 3-0

ARCATA -- Samantha Middleborn and Mercedes Winchester were flawless on the attack Friday night as each played error-free as No. 5-ranked Cal State San Bernardino defeated host Humboldt State 3-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.

The Coyotes, now 8-1 overall and 5-0 in CCAA play, complete the weekend road trip with a match at Sonoma State on Saturday night. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Middleborn fired off a 9-0-11 effort for an eye-popping .818 percentage and Winchester was equally stellar with an 8-0-9 attack performance for the Coyotes, who won 25-17, 25-17, 25-13.

Jessica Girgle contribued three aces -- a match high -- and Kelcie Tolan totaled 10, also a match high.
