SAN BERNARDINO — Cal State San Bernardino and No. 15 Sonoma State combined to score 39 runs and had a combined 42 hits in a doubleheader in which the Coyotes took the first game 14-11 and the Seawolves won the second 9-5.
Leland Sisco went 4-for-5 with five RBIs, three runs scored and was a triple short of the cycle in the opener. Just a spot behind him in the lineup, Cody Madison hit two, three-run home runs, driving in six runs and scoring two while going 3-for-5 in the game.
Of the 14 runs scored, 11 of them were driven in by Sisco and Madison in the five and six spots in the lineup.

The Seawolves added another run in the third before Cal State San Bernardino answered with four runs in the bottom half to cut it to 6-5
CSUSB scored the first on a sac fly to center before a Sisco single drove in one run and then Madison hit his first of two home runs. The Coyotes added one run in the fourth on a ground out by Erik Ornelas and then scored two in the fifth on Sisco's homer to lead 8-6.
The Seawolves retook the lead at 9-8 with three in the top of the sixth, but a six-run inning in the bottom half of the six put CSUSB up 14-9. Ethan Chapman hit a one-out, solo home run to start the scoring before Bryant Veiga and Sisco each had RBI singles before Madison's second three-run shot.
Sonoma State added a run in each the seventh and eighth innings before Garrett Nelson picked up his first save of the year, tossing the final inning and allowing just one hit.
Darren Dworak (1-0) picked up his first win of the year after he threw 2.1 innings of relief for starter Brandon Cunniff. Dworak gave up two runs on five hits and struck out two.
In the nightcap, the Coyotes jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the third, but that was all the damage CSUSB could do.
Sonoma State scored four runs in the fourth to make it 5-4 before putting the game away in the sixth with five more runs.
Daniel Stevanich (0-1) took the loss for the Coyotes allowing five earned runs on seven hits. Matthew Winn and Madison each went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Madison drove in a run.
