2009: Nelsen made three appearances on the mound, all in relief. He posted a 1-1 record and a 4.50 earned run average. 
    
BEFORE CAL STATE: Nelsen attended San Diego State and played baseball at Grossmont College, redshirting one season.
    
HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2005 graduate of Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, CA., where he played four years of baseball and four years of football.
    
PERSONAL: Nelsen is a kinesiology major with an emphasis in exercise science. His immediate goal is to help the Coyotes win a CCAA championship.  He enjoys sports and video games. His parents are Warren and Barbara Nelsen. He has one sibling.
    
MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT -- Combining with another pitcher to throw a no-hitter in high school.
