Coyotes down Colo. Mines, 11-10

9 games played on first day of Super Regional Preview Softball Tourney

Nine games were played Saturday at the Super Regional Preview Tournament in Beaumont.
    BEAUMONT -- Cal State San Bernardino edged 18th-ranked Colorado School of Mines, 11-10, late Saturday night to cap the first day of action in the 2009 Super Regional Preview Tournament at Noble Creek Community Park softball complex.
    The Coyotes improved to 5-7 with the win and have now scored 30 runs in their three games played Saturday at Noble Creek.
    Here are the results of the other games played Saturday:
    Cal State Monterey Bay def. Regis University 8-0 (mercy rule)
    Art Academy University def. Adams State, 1-0
    Colo. School of Mines def. AAU, 9-0 (mercy rule)
    Adams State def. CS Monterey Bay 6-5
     Regis University def. AAU, 2-1
    Colo. School of Mines def. CS Monterey Bay 3-0
    Regis Univ. def. Notre Dame de Namur 7-0
    Notre Dame de Namur def. Adams State 11-2.
    Nine more contests are scheduled Sunday at the complex, starting at 9 a.m.
