TURLOCK -- Freshman
Casey Hirsch scored in the 72nd minute Friday, enabling Cal State San Bernardino's women's soccer team to gain a 1-1 tie in double overtime against the host Cal State Stanislaus Warriors.
Sophomore
Katie Liby assisted on Hirsch's game-tying goal that came after the Warriors' Marissa Dunaway scored in the 55th minute off a corner kick from Allison Freels. The teams were tied 0-0 at the half.
CSUSB junior goalkeeper
Laura Lyons had seven saves in the match. The hosts outshot CSUSB 20-13.
The Coyotes are now 4-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the CCAA South Division while the Warriors are 4-1-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the CCAA North Division. CSUSB will play at Chico State on Sunday.
Dunaway's goal was her fifth of the season.
The Warriors missed a golden opportunity to go up 2-0 on a penalty kick but Adrienne Sorenson's boot was stopped by Lyons.
Minutes later, Hirsch took a pass from Liby and was able to get her shot past Warriors keeper Jessica Sitarz to make it 1-1.
