SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - California State University San Bernardino women's soccer drew 0-0 with Chico State Sunday afternoon in a CCAA contest at Premier Field.
With the draw, the Yotes see their record move to 3-2-3 overall, while staying unbeaten in CCAA play at 2-0-2.
The teams were almost completely level statistically throughout the entire contest. Chico held a 6-3 edge in shots in the first half, but CSUSB leveled it up with a 7-4 advantage in shots in half number two to finish the game at 10-10. The story was the similar in the corner kick department, as both teams took five corners without converting.
CSUSB had a pair of golden opportunities late, but could not find the game-winner. The first was a glorious opportunity from junior
Maya Alston that slid just past the post from the left wing, before a CSUSB cross deflected off a Chico State defender and off the post before it was cleared from danger.
In goal, Coyote senior netminder
Bella Ortiz ran her shutout streak to 370 minutes with her fourth consecutive clean sheet, turning aside all four Wildcat shots she faced.
Next up, the Coyotes will travel north for a contest at Stanislaus State on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
