ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California State University San Bernardino women's soccer earned eight All-CCAA honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Junior defender Sakiah Williams and senior midfielder Raylene Alcaraz were named to the All-CCAA First Team.
Williams earned her second consecutive First Team selection after serving as team captain, starting all 17 regular-season matches and helping the Coyotes record eight shutouts. Alcaraz, last year's CCAA Newcomer of the Year, recorded three goals and seven assists for 13 points, ranking second in the conference in assists.
Junior forward Maya Alston took home CCAA Newcomer of the Year honors along with a spot on the All-CCAA Second Team. She recorded six goals and two assists for 14 points, ranking fifth in the CCAA in goals. Alston scored in three consecutive matches in October and earned CCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors following a two-goal performance against Cal State East Bay in the regular-season finale.
Four Coyotes earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention recognition: senior goalkeeper Bella Ortiz, junior defender Sydney Montgomery, fifth-year defender Ruby Segura, and fifth-year forward Alissa Torres.
Ortiz finished the season with a 9-3-3 record and eight shutouts, including a streak of 460 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. Montgomery emerged as a key part of the Coyotes' defense, going from just two starts last season to a full-time starter this year.
Segura anchored the right side of the Coyotes' backline, starting all 17 regular-season matches with one goal and one assist. Torres recorded one goal and three assists, including a two-assist performance against Stanislaus State.
The group helped the Coyotes earn their first CCAA Tournament victory in program history, rallying for a 2-1 comeback win over Cal State San Marcos to advance to the conference semifinals.
