SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Members of the Cal State San Bernardino men's golf program spent Saturday giving back to the local community, volunteering at the Shandin Hills Community Celebration, an event supporting the restoration of Shandin Hills Golf Course and expanding access to the game throughout San Bernardino.

Coyote student-athletes Kamron Hopson, Tyler Price, and Marco Lin, along with head coach Kyle Emerson and assistant coach Troy Nielsen, staffed the driving range throughout the day, providing swing instruction, coaching tips and encouragement to golfers of all ages and experience levels. San Bernardino City Councilwoman Kimberly Knaus was also in attendance, joining community leaders, local organizations and residents in celebrating the future of the historic public golf course.

The event, which featured an 18-hole scramble tournament, introductory golf clinics, interactive activities and a community picnic, marked the launch of a long-term initiative to restore Shandin Hills Golf Course while creating greater opportunities for the San Bernardino community through the game of golf.

"Our program is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of an event that invests in the future of our community," Emerson said. "Golf has the power to bring people together, teach lifelong lessons and open doors for young people. Our student-athletes are proud to represent Cal State San Bernardino beyond competition, and opportunities like this allow them to build meaningful connections while giving back to the community we proudly call home."
