Game 1 - Cal State San Marcos 10, CSUSB 0 (5 Innings)
The Coyotes managed only three hits against the nationally-ranked Cougars in the first game of the day, with seniors Mia Escujuri (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Ashley Legler (San Diego, Calif.) and junior Katie Griego (Rialto, Calif.) all recording singles.Â
Cal State San Marcos scored two in the first, three in the second, four in the third, and their final run in the fifth for all their offense.Â
Sophomore Ava Paquin (Fullerton, Calif.) received a no-decision despite looking sharp in relief for the Coyotes. She threw 2.1 innings and allowed just one earned run on two hits.

Game 2 - Cal State San Marcos 14, CSUSB 11
Game two looked nothing like the opener, as CSUSB exploded for 11 runs on 11 hits.
Despite San Marcos jumping ahead 3-0 in the top of the first inning, CSUSB answered with five runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead. Senior Iris Bejarano (Salinas, Calif.) belted a three-run homer to tie the game, with Escujuri connecting for a two-run home run to give the Yotes the lead.
San Marcos scored single runs in both the second and third innings, but CSUSB scored twice in each frame to go ahead 9-5. Redshirt sophomore Danyelle Castillo (Atwater, Calif.) delivered a second-inning two-run double, while senior Brooke Brazill (Clovis, Calif.) recorded an RBI knock in the bottom of the third.
A San Marcos grand slam leveled the score at 9-9 in the top of the fourth, and the Cougars took the lead with a three-spot in the top of the fifth. CSUSB got two back in the bottom of the frame on a Brazill reach on error and another RBI double from Castillo to make it 12-11, but single Cougar runs in the sixth and seventh frames closed out the victory for the visitors.
Castillo, Brazill, and Escujuri each recorded a pair of hits in the defeat for CSUSB. The defeat was charged to Legler, who tossed 3.2 innings in relief and was charged with four earned runs conceded.

CSUSB will close out the regular season with a doubleheader against the Cougars on Saturday at the CSUSB Softball Park at 12 p.m. Before the game, the Coyotes will honor their seniors for Senior Day.
