Game 1 - Cal State East Bay 8, CSUSB 6
The Coyotes got on the board first in game one of the doubleheader, as redshirt senior Garret Barto (Pittsburgh, Pa.) roped one into center field to plate junior Eddie Alfaro (Moreno Valley, Calif.), putting CSUSB up 1-0.
Cal State East Bay briefly leveled the score on a sac fly in the top of the third, but CSUSB answered in the bottom of the frame when senior Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) belted a two-run homer over the wall in left to put the Coyotes back on top at 3-1.
In the fourth, the Pioneers tied the score back up at 3-3 on a two-run big fly off the scoreboard in right, but CSUSB went back on top in the fifth when junior Juni Rodriguez (Hemet, Calif.) cleared the bases with a double to right field. He recorded two RBIs on the play, before a third run scored on a throwing error.
CSUSB's offense would go cold after that, and Cal State East Bay took advantage. The Pioneers scored four times in the sixth to take the lead for good, and added an insurance run in the seventh to give the game its final score of 8-6.
In the leadoff spot, Alfaro paced CSUSB with a 3-for-4 effort at the dish, while Barto went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Two innings later, the Yotes flipped the game on its head by scoring five times to take a 7-2 lead. Barto, Pettingill, and senior Benji Solano (Chula Vista, Calif.) all delivered RBI singles in the frame, while a fifth run scored on a wild pitch.
