Game 1: Cal State East Bay 13, CSUSB 1 (5 Innings)
Game one was all Pioneers, as they capitalized on seven Coyote fielding errors to score 13 runs in a windy run-rule shortened affair.
The Coyotes got their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single from redshirt sophomore pitcher Tara Skinner (Menifee, Calif.) to plate pinch runner Brianna Ayap (Lemon Grove, Calif.).Â
Coyote sophomore Ava Paquin (Fullerton, Calif.) was charged with the loss, allowing just one earned run with one strikeout over three innings pitched.
CSUSB scattered seven hits in the defeat, led by a pair from junior Isabella Venegas (Upland, Calif.).

Game 2: CSUSB 4, Cal State East Bay 2
CSUSB briefly fell behind in the top of the first inning, but answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame to take an early 4-1 lead. Venegas leveled the score with an RBI double to center, before junior Katie Griego (Rialto, Calif.) delivered the big blow with a three-run double to the gap in right center, putting CSUSB up by three.
East Bay got one back in the top of the fourth inning to draw to within two, but that was as close as they would get. The Pioneers loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but was shut down by Coyote starter Ashley Legler (San Diego, Calif.). Legler threw a complete game to pick up her 12th win of the season.
Five different players had one hit each for the Yotes, with four of CSUSB's hits going for doubles.
