TURLOCK, Calif. — Cal State San Bernardino men's golf have won the 2026 Hanny Stanislaus Invitational title, edging Chico State in a playoff after both teams finished tied at 8-under par through 54 holes.
The Coyotes set the tone early, opening with a 3-under team round behind junior
Marco Lin (Taoyuan, Taiwan), who led the way with a two-under 69.
In the second round,
Tyler Price (Yucaipa, Calif.) turned in the team's low round of the tournament with a four-under 67. Price and teammate
Mario Stump (Benicia, Calif.) each carded an eagle, helping CSUSB stay steady with a one-under team score and build a seven-stroke lead heading into the final round.
CSUSB delivered its strongest team showing in the final round, posting a 4-under score to remain in front.
Kamron Hopson (Redlands, Calif.), who recorded three rounds under par, closed with a 2-under 69, while
Aaron Parayno (Fresno, Calif.) added his best round of the tournament at one-under.
Chico State, however, surged with a tournament-best 11-under round to force a playoff.
In the extra hole, the Coyotes held firm and secured the victory by a single stroke.
Individually, Hopson led CSUSB with a 4-under finish to place second overall. Lin closed at even par, while Parayno finished at two-over. Price and Stump each recorded three-over totals for the tournament.
Competing as an individual, redshirt freshman
Steven Rivera (Fresno, Calif.) posted rounds of 74, 74, and 73 to finish at eight-over.
Up next for the Coyotes is the CCAA Championships, held next Monday through Wednesday at the Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.
