OREM, Utah - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team defeated Division I Utah Valley University 7-6 Friday evening to open their series at UCCU Ballpark.
With the win, the Coyotes run their win streak to double digits at 10 straight, improving to 15-12 overall on the season.
The Coyotes broke the ice in the contest in the top of the second inning when senior

Patrick Fregoso (Eastvale, Calif.).
CSUSB doubled its lead in the top of the fifth when senior
Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) notched a two-run double to stretch the Coyote lead to 4-0.
Utah Valley got one back in the bottom of the fifth, but CSUSB answered in the top of the seventh on an RBI infield single from sophomore
Keedan Nadeau (Highland, Calif.).
The Wolverines pulled to within two with single runs in the seventh and eighth frames, but Luna wrapped a two-run home around the left field foul pole in the top of the ninth to give the Yotes two massive insurance runs.
Utah Valley threatened in the bottom of the ninth, scoring three runs to draw the game to within one, but ended up leaving the bases loaded and the Coyotes escaped with a huge win.
The win was credited to reliever
Ivan Rodriguez (San Bernardino, Calif.), who allowed one earned run with a pair of Ks over 2.0 innings pitched.
Luna led the Coyotes with three hits, finishing a two-bagger away from hitting for the cycle. Junior
Eddie Alfaro (Moreno Valley, Calif.) was the only other Yote with multiple hits, going 2-for-4.
