ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - After a lopsided sweep of Cal State Los Angeles, the California State University San Bernardino baseball team has claimed both California Collegiate Athletic Association weekly awards.
Senior
Devyn Hernandez (Pasco, Wash.) was named the CCAA Pitcher of the Week, while senior
Dom Dominguez (Victorville, Calif.) was named the CCAA Player of the Week.Â
Hernandez opened up CSUSB's four-game sweep of Cal State Los Angeles with a dominant performance on Friday, throwing seven shutout innings and allowing just three hits to pick up his second win of the season. He struck out eight batters in the win while only walking one.
Dominguez went 8-for-14 (.571) in the weekend sweep, and reached safely in all four games. He drove in 10 runs on the week with nine runs scored, hitting two home runs and two doubles.
It is the second time this season Dominguez has earned CCAA Player of the Week honors.
