SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - California State University San Bernardino women's cross country completed its regular season with a 5K time trial Saturday morning at Cajon High School.
The Yotes were originally scheduled to compete at Cal Poly Pomona, but the race was canceled because portions of the course were flooded.
Senior Amanda Lynch (San Bernardino, Calif.) led the Coyotes with a time of 20:04. Fifth-year Kasey Plumb (Mentone, Calif.) finished second at 20:12, while senior Diana Vera (Colton, Calif.) crossed the finish line third with a time of 20:16.
Junior Jessica Munoz (Jurupa Valley, Calif.) placed fourth at 20:28, followed by fifth-year Lali Gomez Diego (Los Angeles, Calif.) in 20:32. Sophomore Angie Valenzuela (Beaumont, Calif.) finished sixth with a time of 20:42.
Freshman Jocelyn Gonzalez (Ontario, Calif.) placed seventh at 22:05, while junior Hazel Torres (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished eighth in 23:20. Freshman Alegra Caldera (Highland, Calif.) rounded out the group with a time of 23:40.
Saturday's time trial served as the final regular-season competition for most of the CSUSB roster. Due to roster limits at the conference and regional meets, a limited number of Coyotes will continue competing in postseason races.
