SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cal State San Marcos Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest at The Cage.
With the defeat, the Coyotes move to 2-3-2 overall on the season.Â
Neither team found the back of the net in the opening half, despite San Marcos outshooting the Yotes 7-0. Junior
Ryann Munoz (Wrightwood, Calif.) turned away the only shot on target she faced.
CSUSB outshot the hosts 4-3 in the second half, but the only goal was scored by San Marcos. The Cougars did not break the ice until the 78th minute, when Danielle Paulson scored what proved to be the only goal of the contest.
Munoz finished the day with a pair of saves in the defeat.Â
Next up for the Coyotes, they will open CCAA play on Friday afternoon at San Francisco State University. Kickoff from Cox Stadium is slated for 12:30 p.m.
