POMONA, Calif. - The #7 California State University San Bernardino men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Cal Poly Pomona Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Kellogg Stadium.
With the defeat, Cal State San Bernardino's seven-match unbeaten streak to begin the season comes to a close, as they fall to 5-1-2 overall.
The Broncos got on the board first in the 18th minute, but the Yotes answered in the 30th minute. A loose ball in the box fell to the foot of sophomore
Rafa Fonseca (Fontana, Calif.), who deposited it between the legs of the the Cal Poly Pomona goalkeeper to level the match at 1-1.
Ten minutes later, the Broncos took the lead at 2-1 with a 40th minute marker to take a one-goal advantage into the locker room.
CSUSB dominated play in the second half, and finally found the game's equalizer in the 71st minute. Off a Coyote corner, a Pomona defender accidentally redirected the ball into the back of his own net for an own goal to level the game.
Despite being outshot 11-2 in the second half, Cal Poly Pomona won the game off a corner kick in the 86th minute.

Next up for the Yotes, they will travel to Cal State Monterey Bay for a Sunday afternoon contest on October 5. Kick-off from Cardinale Stadium is slated for 2 p.m.
