ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State San Bernardino's
Jayden Chornomud has been voted as the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 15-21.

Chornomud posted a solid 4.57 digs per set average as the Coyotes opened conference action on the road with a pair of victories at UC Merced and Cal State Dominguez Hills. She added three assists in each match and played in seven total sets.

During the CCAA on FloCollege Game of the Week on Thursday, the senior libero from Canyon Lake, Calif., helped CSUSB to a 3-1 win over new member UC Merced with 17 digs. Two nights later, Chornomud dug up 15 in the Coyotes' 3-0 sweep over the Toros in Carson.

After nine matches, Chornomud ranks fourth in the CCAA in digs per set (4.00). As a team CSUSB is fifth with 15.16 digs per set.Â

This is Chornomud's first career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award.

Cal State San Bernardino, which improved to 7-2 (2-0 CCAA), will be at Cal State LA (Friday) and Cal State San Marcos (Saturday) as the conference season continues into week two. All matches will be available on FloCollege.
