SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The #8Â California State University San Bernardino men's soccer team took down Concordia University Irvine 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Premier Field.
With the win, the Coyotes stay unbeaten on the season, improving to 3-0-1.
The only goal of the contest came in the 79th minute. A perfect ball was played forward by redshirt junior Anthony Luna (Santa Clarita, Calif.), finding the foot of classmate Julian Vazquez (Los Angeles, Calif.). Vazquez chipped the ball over the oncoming keeper and into the left side of the net.
In goal, senior Juanpablo Camacho (Norwalk, Calif.) was credited with the win, making two saves for the clean sheet.
CSUSB held a narrow 10-9 edge in shots, but it was the Golden Eagles that led 5-4 on corner kicks. The hosts held 53 percent of the possession on the afternoon.
The Yotes will continue their three-game homestand on Thursday with a non-conference contest against Azusa Pacific. Kickoff from Premier Field is slated for 2:30 p.m.Â
