ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Four California State University San Bernardino baseball student-athletes earned All-Conference recognition from the California Collegiate Athletic Association on Monday afternoon.
Graduate student Daryl Ruiz (Corona, Calif.) was one of two Coyotes named to the First Team. Ruiz had a career year, which included a .402 batting average, a .515 on-base percentage, a .765 slugging percentage with 16 home runs, 73 runs batted in, and 57 runs scored en route to breaking numerous school records.
Joining him on the First Team was senior Jason Shedlock (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.). Shedlock led the team in batting average, hitting .416 with a team-high 79 hits and 58 runs scored, five home runs and 33 runs batted in.
On the Second Team was junior Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.). Giesegh had a breakout year, hitting .383 with 10 home runs and 43 runs batted in and 43 runs scored. He was also a perfect 11-for-11 on stolen base attempts.
Rounding out the selections was Honorable Mention selection Dylan O'Connor (Tacoma, Wash.). O'Connor was the team's top pitcher, going 5-2 with a 4.50 earned run average and a 1.56 WHIP in 13 starts, throwing 70 innings while striking out 68 and holding batters to a .258 average.
