NORMAN, Okla. - Two members of the California State University San Bernardino men's golf team have earned NCAA Division II Ping All-Region honorees by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
For the second year in a row, senior
John Kim (Palm Desert, Calif.) and junior
Chris Wardrup (La Quinta, Calif.) were the two Coyote honorees.
Kim enters next week's NCAA Championships as the second ranked player in the West Region, and is the 48th ranked player in Division II. He has finished in the top 10 of seven of his last eight tournaments, with five top-five finishes in that time. He was named to the CCAA All-Conference and All-Tournament teams already this spring, and is coming off an 11-under par score to finish sixth at last weekend's West/South Central Regional.
Wardrup will head to Florida to compete at the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row after leading his team to a top-five finish at last weekend's regional. Wardrup tied for third overall with a score of -12, his first top-three finish of the season, and also placed seventh at the CCAA Championships last month.
The duo helped lead the Coyotes to their first team appearance at the NCAA National Championships in 2009, which will take place at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
