LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team lost 4-3 to the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles on Friday evening at Reeder Field.
With the loss, the Coyotes fall to 24-19 and 16-17 in CCAA play.
CSUSB scored in the top of the first after junior Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) doubled, scoring senior Adrian Hinojosa Jr. (Chula Vista, Calif.).
The Coyotes added another run in the top of the fourth on a solo homer from junior Tank Rodriguez (Fontana, Calif.) to take a 2-0 lead.
Cal State LA hit a home run of their own to cut the Yotes lead to 2-1.
CSUSB took a 3-1 lead after Wyatt Hall (Port Angeles, Wash.) singled, driving in senior Jason Shedlock (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.).
The Golden Eagles rallied in the bottom of the eighth to take a 4-3 lead and shut down the Coyotes in the top of the ninth to take the series opener.
Despite earning a no-decision, senior Dylan O'Connor (Tacoma, Wash.) allowed just one run over seven innings and threw a season high 123 pitches.
Up next, the Coyotes continue their series against Cal State LA tomorrow with a doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m.
