Women's Soccer Falls to #4 Cal Poly Pomona in Regular Season Finale

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team fell to #4 Cal Poly Pomona 1-0 Thursday afternoon in its regular season finale at Premier Field.

With the defeat, the Coyotes fall to 8-6-4 overall on the season and finish conference play with a record of 6-3-2. The Coyotes secure the four seed in the upcoming CCAA Tournament, slated to begin on Sunday.

The only goal of the contest was scored in the 48th minute by Lavinia Vaipulu, assisted by Marisa Salazar.

The Coyotes appeared to level the score in the 85th minute on a goal from sophomore center back Sakiah Williams (San Bernardino, Calif.), but the goal was taken off the board after the play was ruled offside following a lengthy video review.

In net, Coyote junior Ryann Munoz (Wrightwood, Calif.) took the loss despite making four saves.

Next up, the Coyotes will host Cal Poly Humboldt in the first round of the CCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from Premier Field is slated for 2 p.m.
