SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team saw its 2025 season come to an end on Monday morning, falling to Cal Poly Humboldt in penalty kicks in the First Round of the CCAA Tournament at Premier Field.
The game officially goes into the book as a 0-0 tie, and the result sees the Yotes finish the season at 8-6-5.
The Coyotes outshot the Lumberjacks 20-8 in the contest, including 14-3 in the second half, but neither team found the back of the net, sending the game to overtime.
In the extra sessions, the script flipped, as the Lumberjacks held a 9-2 shot advantage, but Coyote junior Ryann Munoz (Wrightwood, Calif.) made a pair of point blank saves in the extra session to force PKs.
Sophomore Jackeline Fuentes (San Bernardino, Calif.) and senior Leslie Aldape (Ontario, Calif.) each converted from the spot in the shootout, but Cal Poly Humboldt found the net four times, and the Coyotes saw their season come to an end.Â
Munoz finished the contest with four saves in the defeat, including the two in double overtime.
