LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Cal State Los Angeles Friday evening in a CCAA contest at University Stadium.
With the defeat, the Coyotes fall for just the third time this season, moving to 8-3-5 overall and 3-2-3 in CCAA action.
The Golden Eagles scored the only two goals in the first half, but CSUSB had an answer early in the second half. In the 50th minute, redshirt junior
Luis Marin (Los Angeles, Calif.) got on the end of an
Anthony Morales (Orange, Calif.) cross and batted it home for his first collegiate goal in his 32nd career game in the black and blue.
In the 71st minute, CSUSB equalized when Morales scored on an otherworldly free kick from just outside the top of the box that curled into the left side netting to level the score at 2-2.
Cal State LA would find the winner however in the 85th minute, cutting CSUSB's comeback bid short.
In goal,
Donovan Palomares (Boyle Heights, Calif.) was dealt his very first loss of the season despite making a pair of stops.
Next up, the Coyotes will play a road contest against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
