POMONA, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's volleyball team fell 3-2 to their rivals from Cal Poly Pomona Thursday evening in CCAA action at Kellogg Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-17, and 18-16.
With the defeat, the Coyotes see their win streak come to and end at five games, and fall to 13-8 overall on the season and 8-3 in the CCAA.
Junior
Kacie Pedersen (Riverside, Calif.) finished the evening tied for a game-high 23 kills to stay red hot on the season. Her strongest set came in set three, when the Coyotes took a two sets to one lead thanks to six kills and a .333 attack percentage from Pedersen.
Redshirt senior
Savannah Hoffmann (Rialto, Calif.) shattered her season high with 18 kills and a .333 attack percentage in the defeat. She had five kills without an error in set three.
Other statistical leaders for Cal State San Bernardino were sophomore
McKenna Edwards (Santa Clarita, Calif.) with 46 assists and senior
Jayden Chornomud (Canyon Lake, Calif.) with 26 digs.
Next up for the Coyotes, they will return to action with a CCAA contest against UC Merced on Saturday. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
