SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team fell to UC Merced 2-0 Sunday afternoon in CCAA action at Premier Field.
With the win, the Coyotes drop to 4-4-3 overall on the season and 2-1-1 in CCAA play
Neither team scored in the opening half, despite a 5-2 shot advantage for the visiting Bobcats.Â
UC Merced broke the ice in the 53rd minute with a goal on a penalty kick after a handball in the box. They would stretch their lead to a pair in the 70th minute to account for all of their offense.
Seven of CSUSB's nine shots for the contest came in the second half, but none of them crossed the goal line as the Bobcats earned the shutout.
In goal, Coyote junior Ryann Munoz (Wrightwood, Calif.) took the tough luck loss, despite making three saves.
Next up, the Yotes will head on the road to face Chico State on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
