SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team played Stanislaus State to a 2-2 tie Friday afternoon in CCAA action at Premier Field.
With the draw, the Yotes move to 4-3-3 overall on the season and 2-0-1 in CCAA play
Four goals were scored in the first 20 minutes of the contest, as Stan State took a 1-0 lead in just the third minute, but the lead lasted for less than six minutes, as Raylene Alcaraz (Riverside, Calif.) buried her second goal of the season. Assists were credited to Angelyn Pena (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Sydney Trump (Long Beach, Calif.).
An unfortunate own goal from the Coyotes put the Warriors back on top in the 16th minute, but a headed effort from Mitzali Macias (Eastvale, Calif.) off an Angela Morales (Montclair, Calif.) corner kick found the back of the net, knotting the match back up at 2-2.
The game's final 70 minutes went goalless and the game finished in a 2-2 tie despite the Coyotes outshooting the Warriors 11-5 in the first half.
Junior Ryann Munoz (Wrightwood, Calif.) got the draw in goal for the Coyotes. She made six saves in the stalemate.
Next up, the Yotes will face UC Merced on Sunday for the first time as conference opponents. Kickoff from Premier Field is slated for 2 p.m.
