ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Three members of the California State University San Bernardino baseball team have been named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Conference teams, as announced by the league office on Tuesday evening.
Senior outfielder
Giovanni Del Negro (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was named to the CCAA Second Team All-Conference, while senior pitchers
Benny Olguin (Alhambra, Calif.) and
Luke Hempel (Glendale, Calif.) were each named All-CCAA Honorable Mentions.
Del Negro was CSUSB's second leading hitter in 2024 among eligible batters, going .338 with 41 runs scored and 34 runs batted in. He was tied for first on the Coyotes with six home runs on the season, and tied for second with 12 doubles. In his final career game, a fifth-inning solo home run tied him for CSUSB's all-time program record with 152 career runs batted in.
Olguin led all Coyote starters with a 3.82 earned run average in his senior season, compiling a record of 4-5. He tossed a complete game in his final start of the season, a 5-3 victory over Cal Poly Pomona, and finished the season with 55 strikeouts. Olguin was a two-time CCAA and National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association West Region Pitcher of the Week this season.
Hempel had a 4.31 earned run average as a senior for the Coyotes, and won a team-high five games with a 5-4 record. He also led the Coyotes with 63 strikeouts over 64.2 innings pitched this season with 22 walks for a 2.86 strikeout to walk ratio.
It is Del Negro's third consecutive All-Conference honor, after he was named an Honorable Mention as a sophomore and to the First Team as a junior last season. Hempel earns his second CCAA Honorable Mention honor, while Olguin is an All-Conference selection for the second year in a row.
