ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team split a CCAA doubleheader with Sonoma State on Saturday, winning game one 9-0 before falling short 4-3 in game two.
With the split, CSUSB moves to 20-23 overall on the season and 13-20 in the CCAA.

Game 1 - Cal State San Bernardino 9, Sonoma State 0
The Coyotes got on the board first in the top of the first inning, as junior Alec Bressler (Beaumont, Calif.) drove in the game's first run with a base hit through the left side.
In the third, junior Adrian Hinojosa (Chula Vista, Calif.) extended CSUSB's lead to a pair with a sacrific fly to center. The Coyote lead would move to three in the top of the fifth when senior Daryl Ruiz (Corona, Calif.) notched a sacrifice fly of his own.
The Yotes put the contest out of reach with a six-spot in the top of the seventh. Senior Riley Parker (Snohomish, Wash.) opened the frame with an RBI single, followed by an RBI single from Matt Gonzales (Glendora, Calif.), a Giovanni Del Negro (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) sacrifice fly, a pair of runs on a Sonoma State error, and a Jake Borst (Imperial Beach, Calif.) sacrifice fly.
Three Coyotes finished the contest with a pair of hits. Bressler, Parker, and sophomore Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) all notched two hits in the win.
On the hill, Devyn Hernandez (Eastvale, Calif.) got the win, throwing six shutout innings and only allowing four hits. He struck out nine of the 18 outs he recorded.

Game 2 - Sonoma State 4, Cal State San Bernardino 3
The Coyotes got on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the third, but the Seawolves answered right back with two of their own in the bottom of the frame to knot the score at two.
Senior Daniel Garcia Jr. (San Bernardino, Calif.) opened the scored with an RBI single, followed by an RBI single from Bressler.
CSUSB's only other run would come on a Garcia solo homer in the top of the fifth, but again the Seawolves had a quick response with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead that would hold up for the balance of the contest.
Giesegh and Garcia each notched three hits for CSUSB, while Del Negro and Garcia each had two hits.
The loss was charged to freshman Ivan Rodriguez (San Bernardino, Calif.). In four innings pitched, Rodriguez allowed four earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Next up for CSUSB, the Yotes will finish their four-game set at Sonoma State on Sunday morning. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m.
