Game 1 - Cal State San Bernardino 6, #24 Cal State San Marcos 3
Cal State San Bernardino struck first in the bottom of the second inning. The Coyotes loaded the bases with no outs on a walk and a pair of bunt singles, before sophomore Mia Escujuri (Chino Hills, Calif.) singled to center to put the Yotes on top 1-0. A second run scored on the play on a San Marcos overthrow to put CSUSB ahead 2-0.
After San Marcos tied the score on a two-out, two-strike two-run double in the top of the fifth, the Coyotes regained the lead right away in the bottom of the frame on an RBI double over the head of the right fielder to give CSUSB a 3-2 edge.
An overthrow once again burned the Cougars in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on the corners, junior Diggy Olson (Riverside, Calif.) hit a sharp ground ball to third. The San Marcos third baseman attempted to go to second to get the force, but her throw was wide, and went all the way to the right field fence. Olson came all the way around to score on the play for a three-run Little League home run putting CSUSB ahead 6-2. She was credited with one RBI on the play, as senior Hayden Greene (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) came home from third.
In the circle, the win went to starter Natalie Carlos (Garden Grove, Calif.). She allowed three earned runs in the complete game, striking out three and allowing just one walk.
Tosi and junior Emilie Lapeña (Buena Park, Calif.) each recorded a pair of hits to pace the Coyotes in the game one victory.Â

The Yotes claimed the lead with a pair in the bottom of the fourth. Tosi recorded an RBI single to right to score the go-ahead run, while Lapeña scored on another San Marcos throwing error on the play to give the hosts a 5-3 advantage.
San Marcos took control of the contest in the top of the fifth by posting six runs to take a 9-5 lead. Greene got one back for CSUSB in the bottom of the frame with her first home run of the season to draw the Yotes to within three at 9-6.
