CHICO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino softball team was swept by Chico State in a CCAA doubleheader Saturday at the Wildcat Softball Field.
The Coyotes fell 3-0 in game one, before falling 4-1 in game two.
With the defeats, Cal State San Bernardino moves to 7-6 overall on the season and 4-4 in CCAA action.

Game 1 - Chico State 3, Cal State San Bernardino 0
The Coyotes ran into a red hot pitching performance from Amelie Valdez of Chico State in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.Â
Valdez was one out away from a no-hitter when Coyote senior Shannon Galliano (San Mateo, Calif.) knocked a single up the middle to end the no-no. It held up as the only CSUSB of the contest.
Junior Samantha Vargas (Grand Terrace, Calif.) took the loss in the circle for the Yotes. She allowed three earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout over six innings of work.

Game 2 - Chico State 4, Cal State San Bernardino 1
The Yotes took the lead in the fourth and final game of the weekend series when junior Tereise Tosi (Garden Grove, Calif.) belted a hanging breaking ball over the right field fence for a 1-0 Coyote advantage.
Chico State exploded for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a commanding lead and shut the door in the top of the seventh to secure the week.Â
Tosi, batting from the leadoff spot for the first time this season, was the only Coyote with multiple hits in the defeat. She went 2-for-4 with the home run.
Junior Brooke Blackmon (Exeter, Calif.) was charged with the loss for Cal State San Bernardino. She allowed four runs in 5+ innings while striking out four.

The Coyotes will return home on Friday to kick off a four-game series against Cal State East Bay at CSUSB Softball Park. First pitch in game one of the twinbill is slated for 12 p.m.
