SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team played Cal Poly Humboldt to a 2-2 tie Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Premier Field.
With the draw, CSUSB moves to 5-5-6 overall on the season, and 4-3-3 in conference play.
Before the game, four Cal State San Bernardino seniors were honored as they played in their final regular season home game at Premier Field. Leila Peregrina (Chino, Calif.), Ilusion Duron (Chula Vista, Calif.), Mary Godinez (Los Angeles, Calif.), and Alaina O'Connell (Spokane, Wash.) were joined on the field by their friends and family for the pregame ceremony.
Cal Poly Humboldt struck twice in the first half to take an early 2-0 lead less than 23 minutes into the game.
Just over six minutes into the second half, CSUSB cut the deficit to one on the first goal of the season from senior Alissa Torres (Eastvale, Calif.). An assist was credited to freshman defender Sakiah Williams (San Bernardino, Calif.) after a stellar ball forward from the back line.
In the 68th minute, junior Emilee Perez (Corona, Calif.) leveled the score for Cal State San Bernardino when she tapped home an Alyssa Vernon (Hesperia, Calif.) cross to cap the two-goal comeback.
Peregrina recorded the draw in net for CSUSB, making five saves on seven shots on goal.
Next up for the Coyotes, they will play their final game of the regular season on Thursday with a contest at Cal Poly Pomona. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 a.m.
