POMONA, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team saw its 2024 season come to an end on Thursday afternoon, falling to #4 Cal Poly Pomona 3-1 in CCAA action at Kellogg Stadium.
With the defeat, CSUSB finishes its season at 5-6-6 overall and 4-4-3 in CCAA play.
Cal Poly Pomona scored first when Angelina Rivas scored the only goal of the first half in the 22nd minute.
Just over a minute into the second half, the Coyotes leveled the score on the team-leading seventh goal of the season from junior Bella Cervantes (Anaheim, Calif.). Cervantes finished off a goal-line scramble after a corner from classmate Unieque Solis (San Bernardino, Calif.).
Five minutes later, the second goal of the day from Rivas put the Broncos on top for the second time. Liberty Ortiz scored for Cal Poly Pomona in the 64th minute to put the game out of reach for the visitors at 3-1.
Peregrina recorded the defeat in net for CSUSB, making seven saves on 10 shots on goal.
