The Yotes staved off a pair of set points in set two as the Golden Eagles threatened to take a daunting 2-0 lead, but CSUSB fended them off to level the match. Cal State Los Angeles led 24-22, but a M'Kera Drake (San Bernardino, Calif.) kill, an Abbey Clarke (Oswego, Ill.) service ace, and a Robinson kill flipped the script to push Cal State LA to the brink. The Golden Eagles leveled the score at 25, but CSUSB clinched the set with a Robinson kill followed by a Kylie Thomas (San Bernardino, Calif.) service ace.
Cal State San Bernardino raced out to a 4-0 lead in the third set, but could not hold onto their lead as Los Angeles rallied to take the set 25-21. Robinson again led CSUSB offensively with four kills, while sophomore Allison Legates (Los Altos, Calif.) chipped in four assisted blocks.
Cal State Los Angeles took a commanding eight-point lead early in the fourth set at 13-5 and appeared poised to cruise to the victory, but the Yotes stormed all the way back to level the score at 17-17. The Coyotes briefly took a 20-19 lead after a block from Drake and freshman Jaiden Van Horn (Elk Ridge, Utah), but the Golden Eagles responded with a match-clinching 6-0 run.
CSUSB was paced by 15 kills on the evening from Robinson, while Legates, Drake, and sophomore Kacie Pedersen (Riverside, Calif.) each contributed six kills. Drake led the way with six assisted blocks, while Pedersen hit double figures in digs for just the second time this season with 10.
