ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Three members of the California State University San Bernardino softball team were named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association 2024 Preseason Watchlist on Friday afternoon.
Outfielder
Hayden Greene (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) was the first CSUSB honoree. Greene was a First Team All-Conference selection in the CCAA in 2023 after batting .340 with 50 hits, 31 runs scored, and 14 runs batted in. Of her 50 hits, 12 went for extra bases, with eight doubles, two triples, and two home runs.
San Bernardino's top hitter from 2023, junior
Tereise Tosi (Garden Grove, Calif.) also appeared on the Preseason Watchlist on Friday. Tosi, a First Team All-CCAA selection last year, led the Yotes with a .390 batting average, 10 doubles, and 10 home runs. She recorded 64 hits, 36 runs batted in, and 28 runs scored during her sophomore campaign.
Rounding out the Coyote honorees was senior pitcher
Samantha Vargas (Grand Terrace, Calif.). Vargas was a Second Team All-CCAA selection last season, compiling 19 wins and an earned run average of 2.12 in the circle. She struck out 115 batters in 208 innings pitched, while also earning three saves in 10 relief appearances.
The Yotes will open their season with five games at the Concordia Kickoff Classic in Irvine, starting against Colorado Christian on February 2. The home opener is on February 5, when the Yotes welcome Hawaii Pacific to town for a doubleheader at the CSUSB Softball Park.
