SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB women's soccer team fell to Concordia Irvine University on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 3-0. With the loss, the Yotes now hold a 2-3-0 overall record.
The first half was contentious between the Yotes and the Golden Eagles.
Nathaly Losada Lucumi took the first shot of the game in the 1
st minute, testing the defense early. The Golden Eagles got the upper hand in the 16
th minute of the game, with Maddie Lauro tapping in a cross.
The Golden Eagles would enter the second half with the same energy, taking a 2-0 lead in the 64
th minute off a penalty kick.
Emma Frausto got behind the Concordia Irvine defense in the 72
nd minute, going one-on-one with the goalkeeper and making Urquiza lay out for a save.
The final goal came off a free kick in the 82
nd minute of the game by Riley Walkington.
Ilusion Duron had the best opportunity of the game in the 80
th minute, forcing the Golden Eagles' goalkeeper to make a spectacular save to keep her shutout.
Leila Peregrina was a key in holding the Golden Eagles to 1 goal in free play, making 6 saves across her 75 minutes of play.
