SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Coming off a series sweep of the nationally ranked Cougars, the Yotes look to come out on top in their final home weekend of the season.
Game 1: Yotes 8, Lumberjacks 0
Alexis Aguado and
Brooke Brazill put up two runs early for the Yotes. Aguado accounted for half of the Yotes eight runs, number eight being an in-the-park homerun after laying down a triple to right center field and advancing home on the throw.
Hayden Greene,
Tereise Tosi and
Shannon Galliano each added a run on the board respectively.
Samantha Vargas pitched the full five innings and only allowed five hits to bring her season record to 17-9.
Game 2: Yotes 5, Lumberjacks 16
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the first, it looked like the Yotes would get on top again early. After a flyout by
Kaylee Williamson,
Alyssa Martinez would ground out into a double play to end the inning.
Both teams were scoreless going into the second until the Lumberjacks hit a two-run homerun to left center field. The Yotes weren't behind for long, though.
Veronica Garza's sac fly brought Brazill across the plate.
Shannon Galliano hit a triple down the right field line and would come in to tie the game on a single by Greene.
The Lumberjacks regained the lead quickly after it became tied. On a two-out rally, the Lumberjacks put up 11 runs in the third inning alone.
In a game with a handful of homeruns, Tosi added one of her own in the bottom of the fifth, sending it over the right field line. This homerun makes Tosi the leader in the conference in homeruns with nine on the season.
