SAN BERNRDINO, Calif. – The Yotes looked to hand the #10 ranked Toros their second upset of the season in Thursday's game. In a game of offense vs. defense and plenty of lead changes and ties, it looked like the upset just might happen.
Going into the half, the Yotes led 35-38. Despite the Yotes leading by up to six points several times during the night, turnovers late in the second half would cost them the upset, for a final score of 82-65 to bring their overall record to 10-11.
Destiny Jackson, ranked #11 in the conference in points per game (12.8), led the Yotes with 16 total points and three rebounds. As the team's leading scorer, she adds to that to put her at 271 points on the season.
Jaida Jackson and
Mia Finnie both finished in double-digits for scoring. In addition to her 13 points,
Jaida Jackson led both teams with her new season-high seven assists and played just under the 40 minutes of regulation time. Finnie shot well from the field, finishing with a season-high four made field goals for a total of 10 points.
