Yotes On A Roll With 3-Game Win Streak

ARCATA, Calif. – The Yotes held the lead for most of the game on Thursday night in Arcata, CA. The Lumberjacks and Yotes are at similar standings in the conference, so it was an even matchup. Earlier in the season, the Yotes took the win over the Lumberjacks in The Den and they looked to complete a season sweep over their NorCal opponents.

The Yotes were unwaivered by anything the Lumberjacks threw at them and carried the momentum from their two wins last weekend with them into this game. Four quick points by Destiny Jackson put the Yotes up early in the game. The Lumberjacks tied the game at eight and from there the tone was set. The Yotes closed out the half with 18 points, a number that they would mimic in the entire second half. The Lumberjacks hold the winning record against the Yotes, but the Yotes have won the last four meetings between these two teams, including last night's 69-56 win.

Destiny Jackson finished leading both teams in scoring. The redshirt junior guard from Hayward put up 23 points, the second time this season she's achieved this. In a full game played she went 9-16 from the field. Jackson joins two of her teammates, Jaida Jackson and Deja Blue to have eight rebounds on the night.

Mia Dufresne scored 15 points on the night, a new season-high for the sophomore forward. Dufresne leads the team in rebounds, averaging 6.0 per game and 8.5 on the season.
Jaida Jackson went 4-11 in field goals and had 11 total points. Samantha Henley and Blue both shot for seven points a piece, putting them in the top five scorers on the team in their 69-56 win.
