ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – After a three-game win streak, the Yotes fell to the Seawolves in the final seconds of their final road game of the season. Despite leading most of the fourth quarter, the Yotes would turnover the ball and allow Sonoma State to tie the game with seventeen seconds remaining.
A foul by the defense put the Seawolves at the free throw line where they would go 1-1 to take the one-point lead. With 12 seconds on the clock,
Destiny Jackson drove into the paint and dished the ball to
Mia Dufresne, trying to regain the lead for the Yotes. Dufresne would miss the layup and the Seawolves got the rebound, which led to the fastbreak layup that would give them a three-point lead and solidify a final score of 59-56.
Dufresne led the team tonight in points and rebounds. The forward from Torrance, CA put up 12 points and had eight rebounds, contributing to the 24 overall that the Yotes had on the night. She also led both teams in blocks with four, bringing her season total to 29 and her season average to 1.2 per game.
Jaida Jackson finished the night with 12 points and four assists, shooting 33.3 from the field.
Olivia Lee and
Destiny Jackson put up eight points respectively, with Lee contributing two offensive and three defensive rebounds.
