SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB women's basketball team won their Saturday afternoon game against the Gators of San Francisco State. This not only brought their overall record against the Gators to 17 wins and 11 losses, but resulted in a sweep on the weekend following their Thursday night win against Monterey Bay.
If you weren't in The Den on Saturday afternoon, you missed out. The only time the Yotes weren't in the lead came in the first quarter. A layup in the paint from
Deja Blue gave the Yotes the lead they never let go of. The Yotes were in the lead for almost 87% of the 40 minutes of regulated play. In their 64-58 win, the Yotes averaged 46.1 rebounds on the night, their fourth highest average of the season.
The Yotes' offense was evenly spread. Again, four Yotes scored in double digits.
Jaida Jackson led the charge, Saturday's game marking the fourth time this season she's reached 13 points. The redshirt sophomore went 5-12 from the field and shot .500 from the three-point line.
Tatianna Russell and
Samantha Henley both put up 11 points. Henley's six assists marked a new season high for the point guard from Ventura. Her six rebounds also tied with her season-high which she achieved in the first game of February against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
