SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB men's soccer team tied with Colorado School of Mines on Sunday morning at Premier Field, finishing by a score of 1-1. With the tie, the Yotes remain one of five teams in the CCAA that are still undefeated, holding a 2-0-1 record on the season.
The Orediggers got out to an early lead with a goal in the 9
th minute of the game. However, junior goalkeeper
Aiden Hanes would silence the Mines offense for the rest of the game, recording seven saves to hold the score at one. Hanes has an impressive 13 saves to just one goal allowed this season, ranking second in save percentage among CCAA goalkeepers.
The Yotes responded with a goal of their own in the 32
nd minute by
Martin Garcia, his first as a Coyote. He was assisted by
Nicklaus Sullivan, who earned both an assist and a goal on September 1
st in the 2-0 win against Regis.
The Yotes will return to action against Biola on Wednesday, September 14
th at 5:00 PM in La Mirada. Their next home game will be on Sunday, September 18
th at 2:00 PM against Cal State San Marcos in their final non-conference game.
