LA MIRADA, Calif. – The CSUSB men's soccer team tied with Biola on Wednesday night, remaining undefeated with a record of 2-0-2 on the season.
Â
The Yotes currently sit in fourth place in a loaded CCAA conference, trailing three nationally-ranked undefeated teams in #1 Cal State Los Angeles (5-0), #7 Cal State Dominguez Hills (6-0), and #11 Cal Poly Pomona (5-0-1). CSUSB was also one of seven schools in the country to receive votes in the latest poll, putting them right on the brink of cracking into the
Top 25.
Â
The Yotes' lone goal came in just the second minute of the game, when the Biola defense suffered a critical miscommunication that resulted in the ball going into their own net. This was fortunate for the Yotes, however, as they were gifted a 1-0 lead to start the game.
Â
The Eagles tied it up in the 18
th minute, scoring on a breakaway shot that snuck past a diving
Aiden Hanes. Despite allowing a goal, Hanes was lights out for the remainder of the game - recording six saves. The Riverside, CA native remains second among CCAA goalkeepers in save percentage (.905), allowing just two goals in four games while racking up 19 saves on the season.
