LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The CSUSB women's volleyball team dropped Friday night's match against Cal State Los Angeles, falling to 9-3 on the season with a 3-2 record in CCAA play.
The Yotes were ranked No. 13 in
AVCA's latest poll on Monday, moving down a spot from No. 12 the week prior. As seen in CCAA's
Golden Nuggets tweet, the Yotes have been ranked in every single Top 25 poll since November 20, 2017. This means they have earned recognition in every preseason, regular season, and postseason poll during that time; including finishing the season at No. 1 in 2019 when they went 33-0 to win the national championship.
Despite losing three sets to one, the Yotes saw some impressive individual performances on Friday night. Sophomore
Ashley Robinson recorded a career-high 15 kills, her fifth double-digit performance of the season. In addition, sophomore
Savannah Hoffman recorded her fifth consecutive game with at least 10 kills, as she ranks second on the team with 99 kills on the season.
Senior libero
Makena Overbey recorded 28 digs, her highest of the season and the second most of her career behind a 31-dig performance on September 11, 2021 against Western Washington. Overbey is only one of two players in the CCAA with at least 200 digs this season.
