"I felt like we played really well on all sides of the game today" said coach
Dee Payan. "Such a gutsy and gritty performance by Brooke Blackmon. She kept trusting her stuff and dug really deep to close out the game for us. Offensively, we kept trusting and sticking to our game plan. Our bats came alive in the fifth and we were able to put up nine runs to come back from behind"
"Sophia Gombos set the tone for us right away and was phenomenal the entire game for us" coach Payan continued. "She was commanding her pitches through the zone and was mixing speeds very well. Offensively we were able to get on the board early and often. Our team goal was to pass the bat and do whatever it took to help the team win. It was great to see us come together and play some good softball."
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Friday, April 15
th with first pitch at 1 p.m. in Arcata against Cal Poly Humboldt. Streaming is available on the ccaanetwork.com.
