SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes in their return from the Tournament of Champions, where they went 3-2, hosted the Cal St. Monterey Bay Otters at the CSUSB Softball Park. In game one of the doubleheader, the Yotes fell 5-2. CSUSB were unable to find their footing as the Otters won the second game, 13-3.
The leader pitcher for game one was
Brooklyn Blackmon who pitched for six innings collecting one strikeout on the game. Leading the Yotes in hits was
Tereise Tosi who connected on two hits one of which was a double. CSUSB scored two runs in the fourth inning but were not able to catch the Otters. Cal St. Monterey Bay won the first game 5-2.
In the second game the Yotes lead pitcher was
Sofia Gombos who pitched two innings.
Ashley Martinez pitched for one inning and collected a single strikeout.
Bailey Wallace hit her first home run of the season in the second inning.
Alyssa Rodriguez led the Yotes in hits as she collected two hits on the game. The biggest hit on the game was by Hayden Green who doubled and advanced to third on the throw, bringing home Wallace for an RBI. The Yotes fell to the Otters, 13-3.
CSUSB continues their series against Cal St. Monterey Bay on Saturday, April 9th with first pitch at 11 a.m. at the CSUSB Softball Park for another doubleheader. Streaming is available on the ccaanetwork.com.
