SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes hosted the San Francisco State Gators for their last CCAA regular season game. The first game CSUSB forced an early end with the victory in the sixth inning and the Gators fought back to win the second game of the day. The Yotes stand 1-1 with their final push for playoffs tomorrow.
Brooklyn Blackmon pitched a complete game for CSUSB as she collected two strikeouts on 102 pitches. Kelia Peragas made some amazing catches in left field, collecting four putouts on the game.
Kaylee Williamson tied to lead the Yotes in hits connecting for three on the game.
Shannon Galliano connected for three home runs, the last being in the sixth inning when she hit a grand slam to force an early end to the game. CSUSB topped San Francisco State in game one, 12-1.
In the second game, lead pitcher for the Yotes was
Samantha Vargas who pitched five innings for 88 pitches collecting two strikeouts. The biggest hit of the game was by
Alyssa Martinez who hit a home run in the third inning for a two RBI. The Yotes collected nine hits, seven RBIs, and eight assists on the game. The Gators took the lead in the in the second inning and although CSUSB almost came back in the sixth inning, San Francisco State won the second game of the day, 12-8,
