ARCATA, Calif. – The Yotes closed their series in Arcata against the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks winning the last doubleheader. CSUSB won the first game, 4-2, and the second game, 5-3.
Brooklyn Blackmon pitched another complete game collecting seven strike outs on 111 pitches. Blackmon now holds a record of 10-5 with an ERA at 3.28. The Yotes were scoreless in the first six innings and down 1-0.
Bailey Wallace hit a double with bases loaded for a three RBI that put the Yotes on the scoreboard and sealed the lead, 3-1.
Kaylee Williamson hit a double to bring home Wallace as CSUSB topped Cal Poly Humboldt in game one, 4-1.
The lead pitcher for the Yotes in the second game was
Samantha Vargas who pitched four innings on 56 pitches. Blackmon made her way back to the mound to close the last two innings collecting one strike out on 34 pitches and was credited with the win. Heading into the sixth inning CSUSB was down, 2-3.
Shannon Galliano hit a single for an RBI to tie the game, 3-3.
Kelia Paragas hit a triple for a two RBI to take the lead and seal the sweep, 5-3.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Friday, April 29
