SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - After winning their series against Cal Poly Pomona, the Yotes took the road to take on the San Francisco Gators. CSUSB had a big eighth and ninth inning to win game one of the series, 9-7.
The Yotes leading pitcher was
John Pfeffer who pitched four innings collecting six strikeouts. Heading into the game, CSUSB led the CCAA in total home runs and continued that pattern as
Kyle Csakan hit his sixth home run on the season.
The biggest play on the night was by
Daryl Ruiz who doubled to left field for a two RBI, giving the Yotes the lead, 8-7. Closing on the top of the night was
Giovanni Del Negro who hit a a single to right field for another RBI. CSUSB won the first game of the series against the Gators, 9-7.
Ruiz collected two hits on the night, two of which were doubles, for three RBIs.
Deshawn Johnson also collected two hits, one triple, and two RBIs. Del Negro connected for two hits and two RBIs.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Saturday, March 5
